Hi, I’m Shelley, and hospitality is in my blood. Born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, I grew up watching the remarkable women in my family create gatherings that were as meaningful as they were memorable. From church functions to family celebrations, every event felt special and individual - all from their touch. It left such an impression on me, a General Manager once joked about hiring my mom to train the team!

My journey into the professional world of event planning began in college during an internship, where I had the privilege of organizing everything from the Woman of the Year Luncheon to my own graduation. I fell in love with the logistics, the personalization, and all those intricate details that others might find tedious. These are the things that make each event unique—and they’re what spark my passion!

After spending 12 years in Charlotte’s hospitality scene, I moved to Maryland, where I continued my career just outside Washington, D.C., for another 15 years. Now, I’m thrilled to be back in North Carolina, where it all started.

Hummingbird is a tribute to my mother and her favorite bird. Like the hummingbird, our approach is fast, intentional, efficient, and beautiful—qualities that guide everything we do. I look forward to working with you and making your events truly unforgettable.
